How To Use the Practice Charts (for teachers):
· Use tabs or post-it notes to mark 3 pages: "TODAY" on the current lesson page (move this tab each week!), “SCALES” and “THEORY” for easy access.
· Date each lesson at the top.
· Use the previous lesson's list as the "to do" list (copy all songs WITHOUT stars to today's practice chart – those are the songs the student should have practiced!).
· Use colored tabs or page numbers to tell students where to find the song
· When a song is "recital ready," draw a star (or use star stickers!) to the left of the song
· At the end of the lesson, count all of the stars on the page ("recital ready" songs), and allow the student to put that many prize stickers on their prize chart (the last page of the book).
· When the student learns 10 songs (1 row), they get a little prize!
